[audio]Stokowski Speaks - Transfer and restoration by Bob Varney.
Leopold Stokowski explains the themes for Beethoven's 7th symphony and Brahms 1st symphony. Although this seems quaint today, in the 1920's many people were hearing these works in their entirety for the first time thanks to radio and the gramophone. The two recordings were meant to accompany these two symphonies Victor had just recorded and issued. Victor 6669 (Beethoven) and Victor 6657 (Brahms). Both were recorded on April 30, 1927 at the Camden Church Studio in Camden, NJ.
